Charlie Ishikawa, MSPH | International Society for Disease Surveillance

Charlie Ishikawa joined ISDS in 2009 to ramp-up Distribute for the H1N1 response. His responsibilities include management of the Distribute Community of Practice (CoP) and advising the Society on national surveillance policy issues, including Meaningful Use and implementation of BioSense 2.0. 

Prior to joining ISDS, Mr. Ishikawa worked at local, regional and national levels in the field of emergency public health preparedness and enhanced public health surveillance. His expertise is in medical counter measure administration and planning, exercise design and facilitation, workforce development, emergency communications, and public health information system implementation. In 2004, Charlie was awarded the 18th Sellers-McCroan Award by the Georgia Public Health Association and Georgia Division of Public Health for outstanding work in Epidemiology and Public Health Preparedness.

Mr. Ishikawa holds a BS in Biology and Philosophy from Creighton University (Omaha, NE) and a MSPH in Epidemiology from the Rollins School of Public Health, Emory University (Atlanta, GA).
