Description

When public health practitioners use BioSense 2.0, they can view and analyze data on a variety of predetermined syndromes from infectious diseases (such as influenza) to injuries. However, some users may want to use tools to explore new and different syndromes that are not available yet in BioSense 2.0. Nabarun Dasgupta and Timothy Hopper from the BioSense Redesign Team will discuss RStudio, a free and open-source interface for R that users can employ to examine syndromes unique to their geographic or practice area. They will guide and assist BioSense 2.0 users with the possibilities of using supplementary technology, so this Webinar will help expand the scope and usefulness of BioSense 2.0.

Learning Objectives

By the end of the webinar, the audience will be able to:

  1. Describe Rstudio’s main functionalities in relation to creating syndromes using BioSense 2.0
  2. Effectively utilize RStudio’s tools with BioSense 2.0.
  3. Discuss the pros and cons of using this supplementary technology.
