Each horizontal poster board measures 4 ft (height) x 6 ft (width) (115 cm x 183 cm).
You are welcome to bring handouts. The location and poster board number for your presentation will be provided on the conference webpage; please check for updates.
Poster boards will be ready for set-up by 1:00pm on Wednesday, December 11th. Presenters are expected to arrange their material no later than 9:00am on Thursday, December 12th. There will be two poster sessions on Thursday, December 12th:
- 11:20am – 12:30pm
- 5:00pm – 6:00pm
Presenters are expected to be available during at least 1 of the poster sessions to answer questions and discuss their work with attendees. Signs will be made available for you to hang next to your poster to indicate the session(s) you will be available.
If you have more than one poster and they are not side-by-side, plan to spread your time over all poster presentations and enlist your co-authors to be present at other posters. You may wish to add a note on the poster board as to what time you will be present.
Your poster must be taken down by 7:00pm on Thursday, December 12th. We are not responsible for material that may be left behind, lost, stolen, or damaged.
Tips for an effective poster presentation:
- Use graphics over text whenever possible. In general, effective posters have more graphical displays than text.
- Communicate your key findings only. Do not try to include an entire manuscript on your poster!
- Please use font sizes that can be read from a distance; 24pt font is probably the smallest font size you will want to use for the main text of your poster.
- View sample templates and PDFs of poster winners from previous years on the conference website for poster layout ideas.
